Keystone Women’s Care, along with several other Keystone Health practices provides Medication Assisted Treatment to those patients already in their care for other purposes.
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is the use of medications, in combination with therapy, to provide a “whole-patient” approach to the treatment of substance use disorders. According to SAMHSA, research shows that a combination of medication and therapy can successfully treat these disorders, and for some people struggling with addiction, MAT can help sustain recovery.
Specially trained Registered Nurse Case Managers are on staff to assist patients with substance use disorders as well. They work closely with patients in the MAT program and function as a liaison between the patient and the physician to optimize patient care and support.
