Some insurance companies require you to get a referral from your family doctor before you go to a walk-in or urgent-care clinic. Check your insurance coverage before you go to the clinic. If a referral is required and you don’t have one, your care may be delayed and you could be responsible for the entire bill.
If your coverage requires a referral, call your provider’s office to request one before you go to a walk-in clinic. Call even if the office is closed; the answering service will connect you with someone who can assist you.
Please ask our staff if you have questions about the referral process or if your insurance requires a referral.
