Position: Interventional Coordinator LPN/CMA
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday – Friday (No Weekends, No Holidays)
Keystone Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented LPN/CMA to join our compassionate care team for our Interventional Coordinator position.
The Interventional Coordinator will provide overall coordination of patient care throughout the TMS process, including educating patients, providing TMS treatment and scheduling patients. Will provide oversight and ensure availability of personnel to operate the TMS machine. The Interventional Coordinator will also be responsible for scheduling patients, doing prior authorizations and performing Spravato treatments. The Interventional Coordinator will coordinate ECT with the PACU at Wellspan to make sure insurance approval is obtained. The Interventional Coordinator will report to the Nurse Manager. Maintains Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
What You’ll Do:
- Performs initial screening of referrals.
- Schedule appointments for all referrals to see provider.
- Meets face-to-face with patients to complete intake.
- Complete PHQ-9 and HAM-D prior to start of treatment and ensure they are completed every 2 weeks until completion of treatment, per instruction of the provider.
- Educate the patient on the procedure process and show the patient the TMS device, or Spravato room. ECT visualization is done by PACU.
- Confirm informed consent is signed.
- Schedule patients for TMS /Spravato/ECT treatment sessions and maintain accuracy of schedule.
- Contact patient’s insurance provider to verify coverage and obtain prior authorization for treatment if needed.
- Complete appeals packet if insurance provider denies TMS treatments.
- Attend and participate in depression therapy group.
- Attending marketing functions for Interventional services, speaking about the treatments.
- Maintain and update policies and procedures in TMS/SPR Standard Operating Procedures manual. Revision of forms as needed.
- Maintain and update excel spreadsheets on TMS/SPR data.
- Prepare reports as requested by Medical Director and/or Nurse Manager.
- Attends TMS society annual conference and other educational opportunities as funding allows.
- Functions in the role of TMS/SPR nurse in his/her absence.
- Ensure supplies are ordered, keep the nurse manager up to date on any supplies needed or if anything new should be added for the comfort of the patients.
- Maintains operation of TMS device and contacts company to resolve issues.
- Other duties as assigned by Medical Director or Nurse Manager.
- Ability to complete appropriate screening tools.
- Understanding specific guidelines, such as when to call the TMS/SPR prescriber.
- TMS must NOT be performed by coordinators with implanted devices that are activated or controlled in any way by physiological signals such as pacemakers, ICDs, VNS, WCDs, etc.
- Ability to independently make routine adjustments to the coil during TMS.
What We’re Looking For:
- Current Pennsylvania LPN license or a CMA that has graduated from an accredited MA program
- Valid CPR certification
- Strong critical thinking and patient care skills
- Ability to complete screening tools and recognize cortical excitation
- Proficiency in managing potential seizures and adjusting TMS coil settings
- Knowledge of when to escalate care to the TMS prescriber
