Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner Jill Zimmerman is the latest provider to join Keystone Internal Medicine, but a career working in healthcare is nothing new for her.
“I have worked in healthcare for 22 years in various roles, starting from Unit Secretary in a local ER to becoming an RN in the Progressive Care Unit,” she said. “Over the years I then went back to school to obtain my BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing), then MSN (Master of Science in Nursing), then DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice). I really enjoy taking care of the community, so without hesitation I decided to complete my professional journey and become a Family Nurse Practitioner.”
A native to Greencastle, PA, Jill earned her Associates RN degree at Hagerstown Community College and later attended Indiana Wesleyan University, Capella University, and Bradley University for her advanced nursing degrees. She finished her education at Purdue University Global, earning a Post Graduate Certificate with a Family Nurse Practitioner Focus. She loves the small-town feel of this area, so when a job opening came along for Keystone Health Jill knew it would be a good fit for her.
“Keystone is very community-oriented,” she said. “I love the people of the organization, and their mission and vision as a whole. I love my job, and my patients. I will always do what’s best for them every time I see them. I care so much for every one and I treat them as if they are my family.”
When she’s not taking care of patients, Jill enjoys being active with her children and keeps busy by being involved with their sporting teams and events.
“I love spending time with my kids at either fast pitch softball with my daughter, or travel baseball, football, or wrestling with my son,” she said. “I also enjoy drag racing with my family as well.”
Something people may be surprised to learn about Jill is she was formerly a competitive cheerleader who was a 7-time All-American and cheered at the 1995 NFL Pro Bowl in Hawaii!
