June Employee Spotlight – Laura Keller joined Keystone Women’s Care in 2005 and works as a maternal care coordinator. She is a registered nurse works in the Cochran Professional Center helping patients manage all aspects of prenatal care from establishment of pregnancy through delivery.
“Ever since I have been little I knew I always wanted to be a nurse,” Laura said. “Some of the most challenging aspects of my job have been the most rewarding. I am proud to call myself a prenatal nurse. There is a sense of accomplishment to follow a complicated pregnancy and know that I had a small part, along with great physicians at Keystone Women’s Care, in getting a patient further along in her pregnancy with a great outcome for both mother and baby.”
Every day is different. She spends much of her time doing phone triage, collecting prenatal history information, reviewing ultrasounds, completing non-stress tests on prenatal patients, referrals, and home visits. “Getting to do what I love every day and working with great people who are not only my co-workers, but who I consider my friends,” is what Laura says she enjoys most about working at Keystone Women’s Care.
Laura lives in Chambersburg with her husband of 28 years, Mike, and daughter, Sarah. She loves to travel, hike new trails, and tending to her vegetable garden. “Chambersburg will always be home to me. It is a great place to raise a family,” Laura said.
