Get to know Licensed Professional Counselor Kristin Holdaway, one of the newest providers at Keystone Behavioral Health!
What led to you to becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor?
I got my LPC for many reasons. I have spent my whole life helping others and have always been the person my friends go to when they need support or advice. I have also been through counseling myself many times and I know how wonderful it is for the person if they stick with the process. I also love helping others and enjoy being a listening ear and a supportive person to others. I also attribute this career to the counselor I had all through high school. She helped me through one of the toughest times in my life and I wouldn’t be where I am today without her. Shoutout to Hope- you were amazing.
What do you like about working in the behavioral health field?
I love the people I’ve met, both co-workers and patients. They have been some of the nicest people and most hard working. I love helping others and getting to see them succeed in their endeavors.
Where did you go to college?
I received my bachelors from Geneva College and my masters from Messiah University.
Why did you choose to work at Keystone?
I chose to work here because this place felt most like home, and everyone was so nice and welcoming when I came for my interview.
What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of this job is the patients and helping them succeed in whatever their goals may be.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I am a homebody outside of work. I live alone with my pug whose name is Pickles. During the week you can find me at my parents’ house or at my house. If I’m at my house, you’ll find me watching the show Friends. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends. I am out almost every weekend with my friends either grabbing food, watching a movie or going shopping. I spend many evenings with my family and their 4 dogs as well.
Where is your hometown?
I was born and raised in Chambersburg, PA but I currently live in Greencastle, PA.
What’s an interesting fact about yourself or something people might be surprised to know about you?
Something people would be surprised to know about me is that I am a huge 80’s music fan. I was born in 1992 but I was raised on 80’s music and can sing to many 80’s songs. I also love certain movies from the 80’s.
