Get to know Dr. Erum Khalil, the newest provider at Keystone Pediatrics Chambersburg!
How did you decide to become a doctor?
Becoming a doctor is something I have seen myself doing since I was a child. I do not remember what exactly inspired me, but I couldn’t think of doing anything else.
Where did you go to college?
I attended medical school at Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. I graduated in 2010.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Seeing the smiles of my young patients when I am with them is by far my most favorite part of my job.
What do you like about working in the pediatrics field?
I have always enjoyed working with kids. Seeing them grow and develop their personalities is wonderful to experience.
Why did you choose to work at Keystone?
I truly appreciate what Keystone has to offer for the community and being so close to home, it seemed like a great fit.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family. I have 3 boys and time flies when having fun with them.
Where is your hometown and, if you are new to the area, what do you like about Franklin County so far?
My hometown is Karachi, Pakistan. I have lived in Franklin County for the past 6 years. I do love the peaceful environment here.
Is there anything else you’d like people to know about you?
I hate to be treated like a number and would never want to provide such service. I love to see all children thrive and do well.
