Get to know one of Keystone Urgent Care’s newest providers, Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner Bradford Clower, in today’s Meet The Provider article!
How did you decide to become a CRNP?
I think the best way to answer this question is to say I always wanted to do more in my career. I started my medical journey in the Army as a field medic, and then I decided to apply for their LPN program. After being an LPN for a couple of years, I went back to college for the RN program and got my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Still feeling the need to do more, I went back to college again and got my Master of Science in Nursing as a CRNP.
Where did you go to college?
For both my Bachelors and my Masters I went to the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. The school was amazing, as was the local community!
What is your favorite part of working in the urgent care field?
My favorite part about working in Urgent Care is that we get to help right here and right now. People come to Urgent Care because they need immediate action or relief, and we are able to provide that for them.
Why did you choose to work at Keystone?
How I came to work for Keystone was in a round about way, as Joanne Cochran said the first time we met, it was God that led me here. I was working for another company and was not happy with what I was doing, so I started looking for new jobs. The same day Keystone listed a job for a provider in Urgent Care was the same day it popped up on my social media feed. I didn’t waste any time and applied right away; in fact, I was the first to apply for the job! I love that we get to provide care for ALL here, no one is turned away and we can make a real difference in people’s lives.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with my family and dogs. We go on hikes, workout together, and I enjoy visiting all the surrounding areas and festivals. I’m a recent transplant to PA, I have only lived here less than a year.
Where is your hometown? What do you like about Franklin County so far?
I am originally from Jacksonville, FL. I was in the military for the last 26 years and moved to PA less than a year ago. What I like the most about the Franklin County area is all the traditions. There are festivals and seasonal events that really reflect the history of PA. One of the most relaxing and beautiful things to me is to see the corn fields in perfect rows.
What’s an interesting fact about yourself or something people might be surprised to know about you?
I lived in Mexico for a few years and as a result, I speak Spanish.
