Dr. Michael Colli, medical director of Keystone Pediatrics and board-certified pediatrician, also took on the role of Chief Medical Officer of Keystone Health in July and hit the ground running. He’s got ambitious plans to help improve patient care at Keystone Health and is looking into ways to implement changes in the near future. “I am motivated to improve the quality of the work we do here at Keystone,” he said.
Dr. Colli began his work as a pediatrician at Keystone Pediatrics in 2001 and was appointed medical director of the practice in 2003. “I love working with kids,” he said. “I believe that I am in many ways a kid at heart, and I love hearing their stories. Kids are honest and often lack a filter, so they say whatever is on their mind.” Dr. Colli said that when a parent entrusts the care of their child, the most proud possession in the world, to him, it is humbling. “I am very proud to say that in my 13 years here, I have helped many children overcome illnesses and maladies and brought comfort and relief to their parents,” he said.
As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Colli splits his time between the pediatrics practice seeing patients and the administrative offices of Keystone Health. His priority in every aspect of his work is helping Keystone to deliver excellent care to every patient at every opportunity. “I would be embarrassed to work for an organization that had to turn away a family, just because they had come upon some hard times and had to switch insurance to a medical assistance plan,” he said. “I believe Keystone’s organizational philosophy is starting to embrace the idea of improving quality. I think even hiring a CMO is telling that Keystone cares more about its mission than just running a business and making money.”
Dr. Colli lives in Chambersburg with his wife, Amy, and their two children. He’s an avid runner and enjoys participating in marathons, half marathons, 5K’s and relay races. He also spends his time coaching his son’s traveling soccer team.
