This week, the Pennsylvania Department of Health declared Franklin County to be a county with sustained community transmission of measles. This designation expands the recommendations for measles vaccination for everyone living in Franklin County. Under the new recommendations, patients may be vaccinated starting at 6 months of age, and on an accelerated schedule.
If you’re unsure whether you or your child is fully protected, talk with your healthcare provider. Your provider can review your vaccination history and help determine whether you need an MMR vaccine.
