March Employee Spotlight – Genia Greenland, certified registered nurse practitioner, loves the one on one interaction with patients at Keystone Urgent Care. She enjoys her job and spending time with her co-workers, but says knowing that patients appreciate the practice is very motivating.
Genia began working at Keystone Health in 2011 in anticipation of the opening of Keystone Urgent Care. “I was hired for urgent care clinic but started before it opened,” she said. Genia spent time working at other Keystone practices to learn more about different programs and systems used by Keystone Health. Many patients who use Keystone Urgent Care may not have a regular doctor. Knowing first-hand about other practices has helped Genia when she refers urgent care patients to other practices for follow up. “If people do not have a primary care physician, we have a system in place that we can set them up with Keystone Family Medicine or Keystone Internal Medicine,” she said.
Genia is very proud to have a part in opening and making Keystone Urgent Care successful. “The best part of the job is getting back the patient responses—we call patients to follow up several days after we see them to see if they are feeling better and if they liked our services. Knowing we did it ‘right’ is very rewarding,” she said. “I take pride in giving unbiased, quality care to any and all my patients. I see this as one of Keystone’s primary missions and for this reason I am proud to be their employee.”
Genia lives on a farm in Huntingdon County with her husband. She has two married children who live nearby, along with one grandson and one on the way. Genia enjoys hiking with her husband, photography, and travel, but her favorite hobby is spending time with her grandson.
